About

ARUN CHEARIE

I have started this (self) promotional trip with my weblog a couple of years ago and now my photoblog.
If you have an eye for detail, you can be a good photographer. So, lets start.
Oui! I can see it, can you? No? I suppose you need to pay more (deserved) attention to see my face in the background of this text.

Photography has been a passion for a while, infact remember playing with fully Manual SLR many years ago wasting rolls & rolls of films. The interest remained just about on till recently with a point-n-shoot camera. And, now since the procurement of an D-SLR, hopefully the interest in photography will shoot up fullsteam - Thanks to the ever reducing prices of SLRs and an array of available models for most of us to choose and afford one.

I have been shooting with a very basic gears for quite sometime now, however, having laid my hands on a SLR based Kit, I am quite thrilled to publish a few of the (hopefully) good compositions I manage to capture. So, please do stay tuned-in and keep your Comment & Critiques pouring. For any strange reason if you want to contact me, please feel free to shoot a mail off to arun[at]chearie[dot]com Or, Click Here to access the Contact Page.

INTEREST IN PHOTOGRAPHY

Let me tell you a story on my interest in Photography - In late 2002, I had travelled with a few of my friends on a holiday to north-eastern region of Indian Sub-Continent. Though we had only a camera in total for 10 days, the owner of the Camera was bit choosy about what is being shot - Yep! Those were not friendly digital days and films were expensive, to us atleast. Having missed a few good opportunities, I could not resist but go and buy a new basic gear spending a few thousand bucks and ensure the opportunities presented by the state of Sikkim are not missed.

I have been told a few that I shoot portraiture/profiles shots decently, if you check out faces/people/expression categories of this blog, most probably you will agree with my friends - To me personally, natural human expressions seem to be the best subject available to any photographer.

Having said that, must admit I am on still trying to learn the art of Photography - I would want to focus on Landscape, Architecture & Nature to state a few - I am studying a bit on these areas now and the Practicals on the field should follow shortly. Hopefully in the next few months, I should have a few more snaps published on this blog, so please do stay tuned to have a look and ofcourse comment / critique.
WWW ESTATES

In addition to this Photoblog, as mentioned earlier I also blog at ThreeSixty on Enterprise Marketing Management and Customer Management subjects.

My girl-friend pens down her thoughts on Life, Philosophy & Psychology at Priya's Web

What else? Yep. I am available on Linked-In and should hopefully create a Facebook profile in sometime.

MY GEAR

I have a basic D-SLR gear at the moment including two lenses and a pod set. I believe the quality of photograhs are not solely determined by any gear but the imagination of the photographer. So, continuing to believe in this philosophy I choose to use the following kit (may be more lenses) for quite sometime now. Lets see how the results panout.

A) AN IMAGINATIVE MIND
B) CANON T1-I
C) TOKINA 12-24MM 4.0
D) TAMRON 18-250MM 3.5
E) TAMRON 70-300MM 4.0
F) SLIK 800 Pro Tripod
G) A FEW FILTERS
